"SAIL AWAY WITH ME"

...TO BIMINI!

Below are fond memories from a 10-day sailing adventure I took to Bimini, Bahamas with World Youth Group which included meeting and photographing Bimini's famous jazz singer Nathaniel "Piccalo Pete" Saunders who sang and played the banjo for us.  He is "known for famous popular songs like “Bimini Gal”, “Never take a lickin’ till you go to Bimini” and “Balamina”.  Mr. Saunders was a fishing guide, and friends with noted American author and journalist Ernest Hemmingway, and was the inspiration for much of The Old Man and The Sea."  (Source: BAHAMAS PRESS)
