Josh here. Thanks for stopping by. For starters, I wouldn't say that photography is my passion but I do enjoy it and my camera skills are decent. My true passion, aside from being an observer of human nature and others, is helping people see themselves in the best light. Now in this modern time it is possible with an iphone and the right angle for everyone to get a nice-but-often-depth-deficient "selfie" however is it a calmly elevated elevating experience entirely to be seen beautifully in collaboration with and through the eyes of an artist. I do love it when I get to work with those who've never seen their own unique beauty through the eyes of one who is determined to find interesting ways to see the Best in everyone. Sometimes I ask my subjects "What is your favorite angle and side?" and sometimes I discover my favorite to be the other. It is a spiritually energizing thing to successfully transmute (for lack of a more concise term) the soul energy of the individual into an image where inside and outside come together into a new dimension. A moment in time in a picture. Immortal in at least the physical realm and , actually, how one sees one's self has super strength regarding self-evolvement & willpower - just beyond the door of that innermost room where All is Mind.
The lens is a portal.
The right light is important during a shoot and it is always fascinating to me when the stars align on a successful photo session experience. A good night's sleep the night before the shoot is to insure that a sense of rested and grounded wholeness translates through the soul's window with occasional direction from me as The Observer. You may notice that in the majority of my work my primary focus is for the viewer to be locked into the image not by the wardrobe or by the setting - only by the eyes. My photography subjects cover a selective range that includes brides, graduating seniors, models and actors, animals / pets, architecture, families, cookbook/menu cuisine, leaders in business, the arts, and moments / scenes in nature. At one time in my life I thought I wanted to be in the spotlight myself but after spending time in front of the cameras of some great photographers in NYC in my early twenties , I determined that being behind the lens is the best fit for me.
Simplicity is divine.
